This Is My Home

$225.00

“This Is My Home” is an original 8" x 24" acrylic painting that captures the quiet dignity of a white egret standing among the reeds of the LSU Lakes — a place beloved by Baton Rouge locals. Tall grasses, deep green water, and soft reflections create a peaceful wetlands scene that feels both familiar and sacred.

A favorite place for many Baton Rougians to walk is around the LSU Lakes. During the time that the lakes were being drained and dredged I was struck by the amount of trash at the bottom of the lake that had become visible. It was such a sharp contrast to the grace and beauty of the wildlife that lives there. I couldn’t help but think of the irony of nature providing humans with a peaceful and beautiful landscape and humans main contribution to nature was to trash their home. I felt like if the birds could speak to us, they would tell us that ‘This is My Home’ and I love it. Please keep it safe and clean.

Framed in a black and gold gallery frame with finished edges, this painting blends natural beauty with environmental awareness. It is ideal for collectors who appreciate wildlife art with meaning, serene Louisiana landscapes, and artwork that inspires stewardship of the places we love.
